In honour of Sheila Cope
Letter to the Editor
It is with great sadness that the Windermere Community Association board of directors has learned of the passing of Sheila Cope.
Sheila was WCA board member and president for several years in the 1990s and early 2000s, and worked indefatigably for the betterment of the village.
As she worked as the Government Agent in Invermere, she was a resource person for the board in advising about provincial laws and licences. She led us through the renovations of the Spirit of the Millennium years, and most of the creation of our current Constitution; and she was always at the end of the phone when we needed help after her term was completed.
As board president, she ran an efficient, tight meeting: not many lasted longer than an hour and a half.
Sheila will be greatly missed by the community.
The WCA wishes to convey its deepest sympathy to the family at this time.
