Nine-year-old holding party to raise funds for East Kootenay Brain Injury Society

On November 10, our oldest son Braeden Gagatek will be turning nine-years-old. He has decided he does not want gifts or a traditional birthday party. Instead, he has decided to open his heart and hold a community birthday party- with his parents help, of course.

In place of bringing a gift for Braeden, all he asks is all who attend bring a donation to be given to the East Kootenay Brain Injury Society and/or a gift for a child 18 and under. The gifts will be given to our local Christmas Bureau.

We are so very proud of our son for thinking of others on his special day! Living with his father’s disabilities from a brain stem stroke, has been difficult for Braeden and this is his way of turning it around to a positive.

The event will be held November 10, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Invermere Community Hall (pictured above). Games, food, bouncy castle, and of course birthday cake is on the agenda.
