On December 30 at 6:20 p.m. Invermere Fire Rescue (IFR) was dispatched to the 1200 block of 10th Street for a chimney fire.

IFR responded with two apparatus, two pickups, and 12 firefighters.

Due to the roof structure design not allowing for roof ladder deployment mutual aid was requested from Windermere Fire Department for their aerial unit to access chimney.

No damages to the home or injury to occupants are reported.
