Oppenheimer showing Jan. 2
One of the biggest box office hits of the year is coming to the Columbia Valley Centre in Invermere on Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
“Oppenheimer is mythic, massive, and a masterful work from Christopher Nolan. Murphy & Downey Jr. deliver career best performances in what is the most important movie of the decade,” declared Anthony Gagliardi of The Movie Podcast.
During the race to be first in the development of atomic weapons during the Second World War, Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project.
Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. Their work comes to fruition on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world’s first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history.
Presented by Invermere Film Festival, doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
