Search continues for missing Invermere woman
Police and search and rescue volunteers continue to search for Elizabeth Stewart who was last seen in Invermere on January 14.
Elizabeth is a 76-year-old Caucasian female, 5’7” tall with blonde hair and green eyes. RCMP officers have followed up on a number of investigative avenues since her disappearance; however, Elizabeth remains missing.
“Columbia Valley and Kimberley Search & Rescue volunteered their time over this past weekend to search areas that Ms. Stewart may have frequented in the past. Unfortunately no evidence was located,” reported Columbia Valley RCMP Detachment commander Sgt. Darren Kakuno.
“Now that the snow has melted, police are asking residents to check their properties and outbuildings for anything out of the ordinary,” he added.
