National awards for Taynton Bay Spirits
This past fall Taynton Bay Spirits entered the inaugural Canadian Artisan Spirit Awards hosted by BC Distilled. Craft distillers from across Canada had the opportunity to compete in several categories.
Taynton Bay Spirits walked away with three awards, two bronzes and a silver. The bronze medals were awarded to their Vodka and Sinferno.

Sinferno competed in the infused vodka category. Gin was the big winner this year with a silver award. “We are very proud of gin recipe, it is quite balanced and that appeals to a lot of people,” said Justin Atterbury, owner of Taynton Bay Spirits. “We have even converted some non gin drinkers.”
It has been a big year for Taynton Bay Spirits, celebrating its one-year anniversary on April 21.
“We started out with three spirits, our vodka, gin and Tekila-Eh. We worked hard over the summer at local markets, adding raspberry, and pickled vodka and we are always continuing to improve our recipes,” Atterbury said.
Sinferno was a fall addition to their line up and has been very well received over the winter.
Receiving these three awards is a huge accomplishment, competing against top distilleries from all across the country. On April 14, BC Distilled is hosting its annual festival; the only festival in B.C. dedicated exclusively to B.C. craft distilleries.
