Golden RCMP responded to a report of a collision on Highway 1 near Donald on February 11.

A westbound semi‑truck struck a blue van that was in the truck’s lane. The truck driver attempted to avoid the vehicle but was unable to do so.

Police attended and spoke with both drivers and no injuries were reported. A violation ticket was issued to the van driver.

Golden Detachment commander Sgt. Mitch Mercier said, “Drivers are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and keep to their lane. A moment of inattention can put everyone on the road at risk. We were fortunate that no was injured in this incident.”
