Outages and boil water advisory coming in Fairmont
A watermain leak repair program is going to cause water outages and a precautionary boil water advisory for some Fairmont Hot Springs residents May 19 and 20.
Corix Utilities has issued an advisory for Tuesday, May 19 covering Hot Springs Road south of Fairmont Resort Road, on the east side of Highway 93/95 only. This includes Fairmont Vacation Villas.
And on Wednesday, May 20 the advisory covers the area south of Fairmont Resort Road, including Fairway Drive, Ogilvy-Sable Road, Meadows Crescent, Redwing Road, south Fairmont Vacation Villas and the Dutch Creek area.
Corix said a precautionary boil water advisory is being issued “due to the risk of contamination when water systems are turned off and depressurized, which means the safety of the drinking water supply can be immediately ensured.”
The advisory will be rescinded once the water has been demonstrated safe to drink.
