Panorama opens Friday with most skiable vertical

Panorama Mountain Resort will open to the public with the biggest skiable vertical in British Columbia, and the most terrain in the Kootenay Rockies tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 7.

Skiers and boarders will have access to Panorama’s full 4,000 feet of vertical with all lifts spinning from top to bottom and 70 out of 132 trails available, including signature runs like Stumbock’s, View of 1000 Peaks, Schober’s Dream, and the Extreme Dream Zone.

It is expected more runs will be added on Saturday, December 8, when sections of Taynton Bowl, Panorama’s renowned powder zone, are planned to open.

To date the resort has seen nearly 1.5 metres of snowfall and has a base of 70cm at the summit.

Fernie Alpine Resort opened for the season this past weekend and Kimberley Alpine Resort is opening for 2018/19 this Saturday, Dec. 8.

Panorama is located 18 km west of Invermere.
