Paraglider injured in crash near Kootenay Park
Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (CVSAR) responded to a paraglider crash near the border of Kootenay National Park yesterday evening.
The glider pilot was caught in a tree and had sustained injuries during the crash.
A hasty team located the subject, extracted, packaged and transported with the help of Glacier Helicopters Invermere and Parks Canada Visitor Safety.
“When heading out on an adventure it’s a great idea to carry an emergency communications device such as a SPOT or InReach. You never know when you might need to call for help and they can prove invaluable when the time comes,” CVSAR noted on social media.
