Public hearing to consider commercial rezoning
A public hearing is being held by the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) on March 27 to allow the public to discuss a rezoning application with the aim of establishing a mini-storage facility in Edgewater.
The RDEK Board of Directors is considering an application by Kenneth Smith to amend the Steamboat-Jubilee Mountain Official Community Plan (OCP) and the Upper Columbia Valley Zoning Bylaw.
If approved, Bylaws No. 2830 and Bylaw No. 2831 will amend the OCP and zoning designation of the property to facilitate a proposed commercial mini storage facility.
The subject property on Hammond Avenue in Edgewater is currently zoned ‘R-1 (MH), Single Family Residential’ and the property owners seeks to rezone to ‘Mobile Home Zone to C-2, Service Commercial Zone.’
The public hearing will be held at: Edgewater Community Hall (4818 Selkirk Avenue) on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m.
