On September 16 at approximately 3:10 p.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a call for assistance after a 26-year-old male had gone in the water off a rental pontoon boat and did not resurface.

Police and Fire Department resources, along with Columbia Valley Search and Rescue (SAR) attended the area but have not been able to locate the male.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is en route to Invermere and will be deployed in the search on Monday morning.  SAR will be out conducting additional searches today along with the RCMP boat.
