Three vehicle collision due to fog near Field
On November 17, at approximately 1 p.m., frontline officers in Golden responded to a motor vehicle collision involving four vehicles.
The collision occurred on Highway 1 near Field.
A pick-up truck struck a semi tractor trailer unit that was traveling in the slow lane. Visibility was poor due to a sudden increase in dense fog.
The pick-up truck rolled and was struck by a pick-up truck, which was subsequently struck by a third vehicle.
The driver’s and several of occupants were taken to hospital with serious, but not believed to be, life threatening injuries.
“We would like to remind drivers to adjust their driving for conditions,” said Sgt. Mitch Mercier of Golden-Field RCMP Detachment. “A lot of times the weather in mountain terrain can change and drivers need to be aware of their surroundings and road conditions.”
