BC Hydro reports it must conduct a planned power outage Monday, July 24 in the Columbia Valley to allow crews to safely make repairs on a transmission line significantly damaged by the St. Mary’s River wildfire.

It is the transmission line that serves the communities of Invermere, Golden, Parsons and Radium Hot Springs, BC Hydro noted.

“A two-hour power outage has been scheduled for Monday, July 24, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. MST to allow crews to safely make the necessary repairs. We’ll notify customers in these communities that will be impacted by the outage via email or through an automated phone message,” BC Hydro said.
