UPDATE: The highway has been re-opened.

Highway 93/95 is closed in both directions at this time, reports DriveBC. Early reports note there has been one fatality in the two-vehicle crash, with at least seven other people involved. More details when available.
Regional highways are also experiencing heavy traffic volumes on this sunny Sunday afternoon, especially on Highway 1 east and west of Golden.
A Travel Advisory is in effect for this area due to heavy traffic volumes.
Parks Canada is reporting traffic congestion is developing daily at Lake Louise between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Travellers are advised to anticipate delays. Vehicle access into Lake Louise may be limited or restricted. Please watch for traffic control personnel and allow additional time to reach your destination.
