Water Quality Advisory issued for some east side residents
Effective immediately, a Water Quality Advisory is in effect for all users in Timber Ridge and a portion of the East Side Water System south of Timbermont Road including: Hilltop, Baltac, Pedley Heights, Nappe, Lake Drive, Highway Drive, Stoddart, and Sand Road areas.
It does NOT include Windermere, Holland Creek or the Cottages at Copper Point.
The Water Quality Advisory has been issued due to an emergency repair on a watermain on Timbermont Road.
It is recommended children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems or anyone who wants additional protection to use boiled water or a safe alternative for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth until further notice.
For those boiling water, it should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
The advisory has been issued out of an abundance of caution as a result of the repair. Following this type of work, water samples are taken to ensure bacteriological results come back clean, which can take several days. Until those results are returned, the Water Quality Advisory will remain in effect.
