Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) March 6 to 6 a.m., March 13.
Police handled 125 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Two impaired drivers – alcohol.
Five collisions: two in town and three outside of town (including a fatality outside Galloway). All other accidents resulted in minor vehicle damage and/or minor injury.
One hit and run – minor damage reported and other driver identified and charged for fail to remain at scene.
Eight Mental Health Act calls – none apprehended/ one assist East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Seven assault complaints: four were domestic in nature where one person was arrested/ one assault …in all these cases a person was arrested and is facing assault charges. Also, a male was shot. RCMP is still investigating. A seven-year-old child was grabbed. RCMP is still investigating.
Two thefts reported: One shoplifting; one Taking a Motor Vehicle Without Consent.
Two break and enter to residences: One was unfounded and one featured damage to a door only but nothing stolen.
Two reports of property damage: related to issues between family members.
Two arsons: one outside of town and one in town. Both appear suspicious at this time and are still under investigation.
Two drug seizures: marijuana and cocaine.
10 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
