2025 Citizen of the Year nominees announced
The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the nominees for the 2025 Citizen of the Year Award, one of our community’s most prestigious honours.
This year’s nominees are three remarkable individuals whose passion, service, and dedication have made a lasting impact on Cranbrook:
- Brian Clifford;
- Sven Sloeserwij;
- Robert “Bob” Whetham (posthumous nomination).
“These nominees represent the very best of what it means to be part of this community,” said Stacey Brensrud, Executive Director. “From small acts that have changed the life of a fellow citizen to large scale leadership positions, this is a great reminder that strong communities are built from within and the opportunities to make a difference are endless.”
The Citizen of the Year Award, first established in 1973, recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to serve their community. Whether through years of selfless volunteerism, community leadership, or creating opportunities for others, this award honours those whose contributions shape Cranbrook’s future.
The 2025 award will be presented at the 2025 Evening of Excellence, prior to the Business Excellence Awards on October 24, at Key City Theatre. This event brings together residents, businesses, and community leaders to celebrate innovation, leadership, and excellence in every form.
