24 collisions reported after first big snowfall

Cranbrook RCMP responded to 24 motor vehicle collisions this past weekend, none of which caused any significant injuries.

The Fort Steele area saw the majority if incidents with nine collisions occurring over the weekend. The Mills Road area south of town had four and Moyie area had three collisions reported.

“With the first major snowfall the RCMP expected and were prepared for incidents both in town and on the highways. Cranbrook RCMP is thankful that there were no major injuries over the weekend,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.

RCMP had to contend with two crashes two km apart , which occurred around the same time, on Highway 93/95 at Fort Steele Friday afternoon.
