About improving the system for people with disabilities

1. The proposed legislation will incorporate changes to the application process for persons with disabilities. When the legislation comes into force those who have already qualified for similar services, may be eligible to complete a much simpler PWD application.
2. The ministry will be working to streamline the PWD application process. This will help the applicants and it will also reduce paperwork for doctors and other health care professionals.
3. Easing the process surrounding PWD applications is one of the steps in Accessibility 2024. This is the government’s plan to make B.C. the most progressive province in the country for people with disabilities.
