About B.C. Childcare Subsidies
Kootenay East MLA
1. B.C.’s childcare subsidy provides up to $750 per month, per child, to low-income families to support the cost of childcare.
2. In the past, receiving child support payments could limit parents’ eligibility for this much-needed assistance with childcare.
3. Starting April 1, child support payments will no longer impact parents’ eligibility to receive or apply for childcare subsidies. These changes will benefit approximately 900 B.C. families by making them eligible, or by increasing their existing subsidies.
