The library’s hours are:
10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Library Notes: While in Robben Island Prison, Nelson Mandela and other prisoners were allowed to order books from the local public library. Due to slow mail and prison censors, sometimes a book would not get to the prisoner’s section of the jail until the book was overdue. If it was overdue, the guards would just send it back before a prisoner even got to see it. What they did get to see was the overdue fine notice which they had to pay.
