At the Library

By Mike Selby

Cranbrook Public Library

The Cranbrook Public Library opened its door on July 4, 1925, meaning we are turning 100! It is not so much a celebration of us, but a celebration of you—and everyone who has used the library during the past century.  Congratulations to all of us!

The Friends are a hive of activity getting ready for a book sale in the Manual Training School, adjacent to the library. Friday, Jan. 31 is for members only from 3 to 5 pm.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, everyone is welcome from 10 a.m. to 4  p.m. This sale will have books, puzzles, DVDs, audiobooks and magazines. There are over 30 different categories of books to choose from. This is a great place to find your winter reading.

Donations are always welcome and items in good condition are appreciated. Magazines must be published within the last two years. Please bring donations to the Welcome Desk in the library.

Cash or cheque only. All funds raised are used to support programs and materials in the Cranbrook Public Library.

The library’s hours are:

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

We have all kinds of winter programming happening. Please check out www.cranbrookpubliclibrary.ca; our Facebook page; or visit us in person for more information
