Ballet Kelowna coming to Key City in March

Key City Theatre is proud to bring another world-class ballet company to Cranbrook this March!

Ballet Kelowna delivers compelling and inspiring performances that will captivate and engage today’s diverse audiences.

The company is set to bring taqəš and Other Works to the Key City Theatre stage on March 11 at 7:30 p.m.

This exhilarating show offers audiences an evening of dazzling, powerful, and compelling experience that is sure to enliven aspirations.

Cameron Fraser-Monroe brings his classical ballet training, knowledge of traditional Coast Salish, Grass, and Hoop Dance, and experience as a contemporary dancer to taqəš [tawKESH], which means “to return something” in Ayajuthem, the language belonging to the Homalco, Klahoose, K’omoks and Tla’amin Nations.

Set to several songs by Polaris Prize-winning composer and singer Jeremy Dutcher, taqəš follows the traditional story “Raven Returns the Water,” centred around p̓oho (raven) and walθ (frog). This show includes Guillaume Côté’s riveting Bolero, and a new, uplifting ensemble work by Robert Stephen.

Get your tickets to the show by visiting the Key City Theatre box office (Mondays to Fridays, 12-6 p.m.), by calling 250-426-7006 or online.

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 18 at 12 p.m.
