BBQ fundraiser raises $6,650 for East Kootenay NICU

McPherson Funeral Services’ fundraising BBQ on September 14, raised $6,650 towards East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s A Warm Embrace campaign. This donation will help bring a much-needed NICU to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Rockin’ the Rockies Car Club was out for the event with a car show and made an additional $500 donation towards the NICU as well.

The event was sponsored by Save-On Foods, Sandor Rentals, Selkirk Beverages, Old Dutch, Cranbrook Youth Ambassadors, and Wolfpack Signs.

EKFH is overwhelmed by the community support, and everyone who turned out and made this BBQ such an incredible fundraiser. We want to thank everyone at McPherson, Rockin’ in the Rockies, and all the sponsors for all their hard work!

Dane Chasca, Managing Director of McPherson Funeral Services said, “We thank the amazing communities all around for their tremendous support. We are so honored and privileged to be in such an amazing place with such great support. Our community always comes through to make sure that we have what we need and especially for those who need it most. The community support was unbelievable and I know it will continue.”

The Warm Embrace Campaign has raised over $1.65 million towards its $1.8 million goal to bring a NICU to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
