It isn’t every day you get to see snowmobiles, skiers and snowboarders soaring above streetlights in downtown Cranbrook.

About 6,000 people took in the festivities along Baker Street at CBK Winter Blitzville on a snowy Saturday, Feb. 16 evening.

The BC Family Day long weekend, hosted by the City of Cranbrook, featured X games champion Brett Turcotte and his Monster Energy team performing aerial stunts with their snow machines, while local skiers and boarders took part in a rail jam, while the adjacent beverage garden was packed with folks from all over the region, out of province and the US.

To top off the fun, the city provided an impressive and dramatic fireworks display.
