Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services (CFES) reported on social media April 13 that firefighters have been kept busy dousing fires currently not allowed by the provincial government due to COVID-19 pandemic reasons.

In a tweet Monday, Cranbrook Fire asked residents: “Please don’t light that pile! There is currently a burning ban on for rural Cranbrook. The crews were out multiple times this weekend extinguishing fires that are currently prohibited by (B.C. Ministry of) Environment and will continue to be after the 16^th (of April).
