Chamber launches 16th Annual Turkey Drive

2025 Fundraising Goal: $65,000

The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of its 16th Annual Turkey Drive, generously sponsored by Cranbrook Hyundai. This beloved community initiative supports the life-changing work of The Salvation Army and the Cranbrook Food Bank, helping ensure that no one in our community goes hungry this holiday season — and beyond.

The Turkey Drive runs now through December 25, with a fundraising goal of $65,000. Under the leadership of 2025 Grand Turkey, Ben Ankenbauer from Modern PurAir, this year’s team of Pluckers are flocking to the streets in search of donations. Every dollar raised stays local and directly supports families, seniors, and vulnerable residents in Cranbrook.

How to Donate

  • Online (Best Option): Fast, secure, and provides an instant tax receipt;
  • Cheque: Payable to The Salvation Army (tax receipt issued by them);
  • Cash: Drop off at the Cranbrook Chamber office (no tax receipt).

Every contribution makes a meaningful impact by helping:

  • Fill Christmas hampers and provide fresh food such as milk, eggs, produce, and meat;
  • Support local school lunch programs and daily meals;
  • Deliver meals to shut-ins and seniors;
  • Keep Food Bank shelves stocked year-round;
  • Give seniors and vulnerable residents access to nutritious meals — and a sense of community.

Key Dates

  • Now – December 25: Donations open;
  • November 12 – December 2: The Great Turkey Fundraiser at Save-On-Foods;
  • December 10 – Spirit of Giving Lunch at Encore Brewing Company – announcement of Turkey Drive results and Top Fundraiser.

The Cranbrook Chamber Turkey Drive began in 2008, when chamber staff and volunteers stepped up after a local agency announced they could not fill the Christmas Hamper program. In just four hours, enough funds were raised to ensure every family in need received a hamper.

That spirit of community continues today, powered by dedicated Chamber volunteers, generous local businesses, and caring citizens.
