Changes to senior’s downtown parking permits start Jan. 1
All current senior’s parking permits issued by the City of Cranbrook will expire at the end of the year, as changes to the parking permits and how you apply for them take effect January 1, 2022.
A senior’s parking permit allows for the use of a metered parking space at no charge for a maximum of one hour.
People who are 65 years of age or older and have existing seniors parking permits must reapply by December 31.
You must present a completed application form, identification, and proof of vehicle registration to City Hall, where you will be issued a new Senior’s Parking Permit valid for two years from the date or issue.
This change stems from updates to the City’s Streets, Traffic and Parking bylaw, which were adopted by council on May 31.
Applications are available at City Hall or on the City’s website at www.cranbrook.ca.
