Chunk of 2nd Street S to be closed until August 12
The City of Cranbrook’s ongoing road repair schedule has moved to 2nd Street South, between Victoria Avenue and 27th Avenue.
City communications director Chris Zettel August 4 reported that City of Cranbrook residents and the driving public need to be advised that 2nd Street South will be closed to traffic between Victoria Avenue and 27th Avenue South, from Monday August 8 to Friday, August 12, for road work and paving.
“Any access will be open for local traffic, including fire and emergency services only. Anyone requiring access to the RDEK offices, the East Kootenay Regional Hospital or the College of the Rockies are asked to use 2nd Street North for the duration of the project. Drivers and those looking to access the Cranbrook Golf Course are asked to please follow the detour signs. The City of Cranbrook apologizes for any inconvenience,” Zettel stated in a media release.
Meanwhile, work on 14th Avenue is coming to a close.
