City experiences 29% climb in building activity
The City of Cranbrook experienced a 29% increase in building permit activity over 2017.
The total building permit activity in 2018 for the city was $44.25 million, Ron Fraser, Office of Innovation and Collaboration director reported to city council last night (Jan. 21).
Helping drive home a strong year was the fourth quarter of 2018, which saw total construction value in the city reach $7.61 million over $6.4 million in 2017, an 18% increase, though the same number of permits (50) were issued.
“It appears that 2018 was a very successful year for building permits,” Fraser said.
