City hosting Water Meter Referendum open house

The City of Cranbrook will be hosting an informational open house Oct. 27 for members of the public interested in learning more about the Nov. 19 referendum on water meters.

On Monday October 3, the city received Statutory Approval, dated September 23, from the Deputy Inspector of Municipalities to move forward with the referendum process for borrowing money to provide universal water meters to all properties in the City of Cranbrook.

Water Meter Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 3732, 2011, will be the focus of the referendum, running in conjunction with the municipal and school board elections.

The Oct. 27 open house runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. City staff has created a public information package for review, which is available below.  Copies of the information packages will also be made available at the Open House.
