College open house February 7

College of the Rockies is hosting an open house for prospective students on Thursday, February 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Cranbrook Main Campus cafeteria.  College faculty and staff will be on-hand to help adult learners, high school students and parents explore career, education and upgrading options.

College of the Rockies’ Information Officer, Hugh Moore, looks forward to welcoming visitors to the February 7 Open House.

Find out how to finance your education from the Financial Aid and Awards Officer. Talk to an Education Advisor about course selection, prerequisites and university transfer options. Learn about services available through the Aboriginal Education Coordinator and Disability and Learning Support Coordinator.

Discover what it’s like to live in the dorms from the Residence Supervisor or chat with the Career and Employment Officer about what opportunities are in the field of your choice. Extra-curricular sports and activities will be covered by the Campus Life and Athletics staff.

Representatives from all program areas will be available to answer your questions on career choices and program information. The Admissions and Registration staff can help you fill out an application form for the September semester and will waive the $30 application fee if you apply during the open house.

During the open house, students from the college’s Hairstylist program will be providing free cuts and styles and light refreshments will be provided.  In addition, all attendees can enter their name into a draw for a $250 tuition award.

From 5 to 6 p.m., information sessions for both the Practical Nursing and the new Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Foundation programs will be taking place with representatives from each of these program areas.
