Cranbrook Chamber forming Policy Committee

The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce is forming a policy committee to identify issues of importance to the Cranbrook business community and create policy to be advanced, via the Board of Directors, to the three levels of government and others in a position to influence the economy of Cranbrook.

David D Hull

“The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce has a proud 107-year history of evidence based, non-partisan advocacy on behalf of Cranbrook’s business community,” said Chamber Executive Director David D. Hull.  “The first order of business for the new committee will be the 2017 Provincial Election slated for May 9.”

“The Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce will be actively engaged in the provincial election, to advocate on behalf of our business community and ensure the priorities of our members are part of the conversation on the campaign trail not only throughout Kootenay East but the entire province. The Policy Committee will be a huge contributor to this process,” said Hull.

The Policy Committee is open to any representative of a chamber member.

“The committee will meet monthly, save July and August, for one and a half hours. The time commitment is not onerous,” said Hull. “The committee will work at a very high and efficient level with intensive staff support.”

Anyone interested in sitting on the Chamber Policy Committee should contact David D. Hull at the chamber office. At the first gathering the committee will select a chair and determine the time and day for subsequent meetings.
