Cranbrook detachment phone service restored

Please be advised that the disruption to phone services that impacted the Cranbrook RCMP Detachment has been resolved and we are once again able to address non-emergency calls at 250-489-3471.

We would like to thank the public for their patience during the outage.

What is a non-emergency call?

Non-emergency calls are for police matters that do not require and immediate or urgent response.  Non-emergencies could include crimes with no suspect (example: theft of bicycle or from vehicle), a crime that occurred a while ago, frauds, on-going issues (example: vandalism), suspicious circumstances that may criminal activity, vehicle incidents where there are no injuries and that have not created an immediate hazard.

When should I call 911?

911 is for police, fire or medical emergencies. You should call 911 if you-or another person’s life, safety, health or property is in immediate risk.

Emergencies can include serious crimes that have just occurred (example: robbery, assault, abductions), crimes that are in progress (example: domestic disputes, attacks, impaired drivers, break and enter) and incidents or accidents with injuries or that pose threat to life or health (fires/smoke, hazardous goods incidents, downed power lines).
