Cranbrook RCMP nab suspect in stolen vehicle
Cranbrook RCMP officers safely apprehended a suspect in a stolen vehicle last night.
At approximately 8 p.m., Oct. 25, Cranbrook RCMP received information of a possible location of a stolen vehicle bearing Alberta plate BTY7944.
Police located the vehicle and the driver fled at high speed. Police did not pursue. The vehicle was located again on Highway 3/95 where the vehicle was boxed in by police and the lone occupant was safely taken into custody.
“There were no injuries during this event to report. The suspect is a Kimberley resident who has outstanding warrants from Calgary as well as Kimberley and is currently awaiting disposition for several other offences,” reported S/Sgt. Hector Lee, Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander.
Lee added he commends the officers involved “for their diligence and quick thinking in bringing this situation to a safe end.”
