Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls reported to Cranbrook RCMP for the period between 6 a.m. Nov. 5 to Nov. 12, at 6 a.m.
Calls for Service: 122
Two impaired driving: (alcohol).
Three collisions in the city: Including two accidents involving pedestrians. One occurred near the Superstore where environmental conditions contributed to the driver of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The second incident occurred near the intersection of Theatre Road and Cranbrook Street North where a pedestrian crossed the street, and not in the crosswalk a few feet away, and a vehicle turning left hit the crossing pedestrian. Non-life threatening injuries suffered by the pedestrians in each case.
Three collisions outside the city: An accident involving two vehicles; a rear ender and a driver charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
12 driving complaints: Four in the city and eight outside the city.
Two assaults: A family dispute that got physical, no charges; another incident unfounded.
Nine thefts.
Four shoplifting.
One theft from auto: Attempt (possibly) where a female suspect tried our complainant’s trunk to see if it was open.
Four thefts other: Including theft of a statue from front deck; wallet taken from locker room in a local gym; theft of tires; theft of Halloween decoration from a yard.
Two break and enters to residences: One attempt still being investigated; one incident where family member broke into residence to party with friends.
Two damage to property: A cell phone taken from jacket and smashed; window in front of downtown business cracked.
Two drug seizures: crystal meth.
12 false alarms and false 911 calls.
