Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls reported to Cranbrook RCMP for the period between 12 a.m. Dec. 31, 2018 to Jan. 13, at 12 p.m. (Note two week period.)

Calls for Service: 236

One impaired driving:  One 90-Day Immediate Roadside prohibition (Multiple Counter Attack Roadblocks conducted during New Years season.)

Five collisions in the city: All minor in nature; one where a police vehicle was rear-ended.

11 collisions outside the city: All minor in nature due to weather conditions and wild animals.

22 driving complaints: nine in the city and 13 outside the city.

Two hit and runs: Both parked vehicles hit.

10 assaults: six domestic in nature.

Nine thefts.

Three shoplifting, including a theft of an IPHONE from a cellular store.

One theft of auto: Attempted theft of vehicle.

One theft from auto: Change and ID stolen from parked vehicle.

One theft other: Internal theft from business

Two theft of bicycle.

One break and enter to business: Break and enter to compound with truck parts stolen.

Two break and enters to residences.

Two mischief to property: Graffiti at back of Curling Club; Mischief to RCMP cells by person in custody –subject charged.

Two drug seizures: One stemmed from a traffic stop that led to seizure of suspected heroine and meth, amounts consistent with trafficking; multiple charges forwarded to Crown. And another incident where personal use believed illicit unknown substance was seized.

24 false alarms and false 911 calls.
