Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) July 25 to 6 a.m., August 1.
The detachment received 177 calls for service throughout that period.
Among the calls police handled…
Eight impaired drivers – all alcohol (from three-day suspensions to 90-day suspensions)
Seven collisions: two Collisions where deer were struck; one collision involved a cyclist – no injuries reported; four other collisions reported that involved two vehicles in each.
Two hit and run incidents: both minor incidents in nature, no injuries.
Nine Mental Health Act calls – five apprehended.
Five assault complaints: one domestic in nature.
Four thefts reported: one theft from a motor vehicle where a window was smashed and purse was stolen; other thefts reported (empty cans/bottles, a tablet and cash).
One report of property damage: vehicle and a sign post.
One drug seizure – marijuana.
17 false alarms / false 911 complaints.
Nine persons arrested for intoxication in a public place.
