The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Oct. 10 to 6 a.m., Oct. 17.

The detachment received 140 calls for service throughout that period.

Among the calls police handled…

Three impaired drivers – alcohol.

Two collisions – both out of town. One incident resulted in a driver being arrested for impaired driving. No injuries at all in either incident.

Nine Mental Health Act calls – three apprehended.

Four Assault complaints: Three domestic in nature with arrests made in all incidents.

12 thefts reported, including: four shoplifting; two thefts of a bicycle; two thefts from vehicle – vehicles were left unlocked and thieves entered and rummaged through the vehicles. A wallet with cash, loose change and sunglasses taken.. Lock your vehicles up folks! There were also three other thefts: Theft of equipment from construction site Shadow Mountain, theft of laptop from local hotel, theft of money from residence and one theft of a skidoo and trailer.

Three break and enters: one break in to a hotel room and suspect(s) stole coats; one break in to an abandoned business where four youth suspects were arrested and turned over to their parents, and one break and enter to local school where clothing items were stolen.

Three reports of property damage: two occurred outside of town to a vehicle and rest stop bathroom and one occurred to a vehicle on Theater Road.

Three drug seizures: marijuana/ methamphetamine/ cocaine.

13 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.

Four persons arrested for intoxication in public place.

Found property

A scanning tool used for vehicle diagnostics was located by a member of the public and turned into the Cranbrook RCMP Detachment. Please come and claim if you are looking for it. Bring receipts, serial numbers or anything you can to identify this expensive piece of equipment.
