Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Nov. 21 to 6 a.m., Nov. 28.
Police handled 131 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Six impaired drivers – all alcohol.
Six collisions: two in town that resulted in minor injury and/or minor damage; four outside of town with either the road conditions or wildlife being a major factor.
One hit and run incident – a vehicle hit a yield sign resulting in the sign being uprooted along with the concrete and appears to have been dragged for a short distance.
Six Mental Health Act calls – four apprehended.
Six assault complaints: three domestic related incidents.
Nine thefts reported: two shoplifting; one theft of a vehicle – Cranbrook Search and Rescue truck stolen but recovered in town; three thefts from a vehicle – possible theft of gas from U-Haul trucks/ theft of wallet and electronics from UNLOCKED vehicles; four other thefts – from construction sites, roommates, hotel room.
Two break and enters to businesses:
A Break and enter to the Search and Rescue building on 7th Avenue. Nothing stolen except the truck was taken for a joy ride and found within the city. Nothing from the truck was stolen either. Matter is still under investigation.
And suspicious males removing items from a yard in the industrial area; business was located and appears nothing was stolen.
One break and enter to residence – UNLOCKED garage out in Wardner where chainsaw stolen… nothing else from garage stolen.
Five reports of property damage: three were domestic situations or landlord tenant issue.
One drug seizure – marijuana.
14 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
