Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Feb. 13 to 6 a.m., Feb. 2.
Police handled 135 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Four impaired drivers – alcohol.
12 collisions: – five in town/ seven outside of town, including one fatality. Mostly property damage otherwise and one driver impaired by alcohol and charged. Icy conditions contributed to many of the accidents.
One Hit and Run – minor damage reported.
Nine Mental Health Act calls: two apprehended / four assistance to hospital where two were apprehended.
Five assault complaints: three domestic in nature.
Eight thefts reported: four shoplifting; one attempted theft from a vehicle – IPAD in vehicle, thief unsuccessful; three other thefts, including Hometown Hockey trailers being entered but nothing was stolen/ internal theft/ theft of squeegee (yes that is accurate… a squeegee).
One break and enter to a residence in a rural area; an abandoned house was broken into, partied in and lots of property damage. Seven persons (mostly youths) were arrested facing charges of break and enter, mischief.
Three reports of property damage: broken house window, snowballs being thrown at cars.
One drug seizure – marijuana.
16 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
Hometown Hockey appeared to be a very successful event!
