Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) May 8 to 6 a.m., May 15.

Police handled 145 calls for service throughout this week.

Among the calls police handled…

One impaired driver.

One collision occurred outside of town where an unknown vehicle ran another off the road while passing on a double solid line. Non-life threatening injuries reported and suspect vehicle was never located.

Nine Mental Health Act calls – None apprehended.

Three assault complaints: One domestic in nature. Two other assaults reported with arrests made but no serious injuries.

12 thefts reported: including three shoplifting; one report of bike theft which was determined to be unfounded; two thefts from motor vehicles – air cleaning cover from a Dodge Durango and bear spray taken in the other incident. Four other thefts: attempt theft of gas in Moyie; theft of various tools from an office building; theft of squeegees from gas station; and theft of a cactus from a yard.

There was also one theft of a motor vehicle reported, from the Industrial area between May 11 and May 12. The vehicle is a white 2011 Ford F250 Crew Cab bearing B.C. plate of KW1009 and “Owen’s Drilling LTD” decal on it. It has not been recovered yet.

Three reports of property damage: motorcycle damaged; fence spray painted; skylight damaged at city well. Two youths were located and responsible for the damage

Four drug seizures – marijuana and cocaine.

14 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
