Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) June 5 to 6 a.m., June 12.
Police handled 167 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Two road checks were conducted on the weekend; great compliance with approximately 200 driver contacts .
Seven collisions – four in town, all minor. Three in the rural areas.
One hit and run ; the driver was located and tickets issued.
Five Mental Health Act calls – one apprehension.
One assault complaints: Male fled on foot from scene, was tracked and arrested by Cranbrook Police Dog Service; charges recommended to Crown.
14 Thefts reported: three shoplifting; six thefts from motor vehicles: * Please lock your vehicles and remove valuables from sight – these are crimes of opportunity and they can be reduced by keeping a clean interior! Five other thefts under $5,000.
Two break and enters to businesses: In one of the B&Es, one male was arrested by police while in the act; charges recommended to Crown. The other file is still under investigation.
One break and enter to residence: One male arrested by police and charges being recommended to Crown.
Nine reports of property damage: four mischief to a vehicle (one male arrested in one file and charges recommended to Crown), one Mischief to trees, two mischief to business (windows smashed), one related to a family dispute.
Three drug seizures – two for marijuana and one for cocaine.
14 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
