Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Sept. 18 to 6 a.m., Sept. 25.

Police handled 129 calls for service throughout this week.

Among the calls police handled…

Three collisions – two in town (one caused when a driver suffered a medical issue and the other involved a parked vehicle rolling back into another vehicle) and one outside of town (vehicle versus deer).

One Hit and Run – witness called in, no report from victim driver.

Four Mental Health Act Calls – one apprehended.

One assault complaint: domestic in nature where the male suspect was arrested.

Nine Thefts reported including: six shoplifting; one theft of a truck – was recovered later that day by police, driver fled; one theft from a vehicle – occurred two weeks prior, hunting equipment stolen; and one attempt theft of a bicycle from in front of a local hotel, suspect unsuccessful.

Two reports of property damage: washrooms at Rotary Park vandalized; signage in the 1000 block of Cranbrook St. N continually vandalized.

Two drug seizures: cocaine and heroin – both in town.

17 false alarms / false 911 complaints.
