Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Oct. 2 to 6 a.m., Oct. 9.
Police handled 166 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
Three collisions – All in town (property damage and/or minor injury).
One hit and run: driver identified and charges pending.
Eight Mental Health Act calls – two apprehended with assistance to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
Three assault complaints: one domestic in nature; one common assault and one assault with a knife – all of which resulted in arrests. The accused was held in custody on the weapon complaint.
12 thefts reported including: three shoplifting (one of which was in excess of $650); one theft of auto – one incident where a vehicle was taken without permission; eight thefts from vehicle – primarily change stolen from unlocked vehicles with one report of locked vehicles entered. One owner reported a pink camo ammunition clip (empty) stolen from her vehicle amongst other items.
One break and enter to a residence where a garage was entered, vehicles rummaged through and two mountain bikes stolen at a total value of over $3,500. Please watch for a white / blue Trek Superfly and a purple / gray Giant Rain.
Six reports of property damage: one where charges are proposed on a prisoner destroying the legal counsel phone and one that involved graffiti to a house under construction where several youths were identified.
Two drug seizures: marijuana.
11 false alarms / eight false 911 complaints.
