Cranbrook RCMP Report

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Dec. 11 to 6 a.m., Dec. 18.

Police handled 142 calls for service throughout this week.

Among the calls police handled…

One impaired driver: alcohol.

11 collisions – three in town / eight out of town. Minor property damage and/or minor injury.

Two hit and runs.

13 Mental Health Act calls – two apprehended.

Three assault complaints – all minor in nature.

Three thefts reported – shoplifting.

Three thefts from vehicles reported. One was an attempted theft and two were actual thefts.

One theft other: Theft of tools from a shed.

Two reports of property damage: both minor in nature.

Two drug seizures: Both small amount of marijuana, no charges laid.

Eight false alarms.

17 false/abandoned 911 complaints – many of these calls are extremely time consuming for police to investigate.
