Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) April 2 to 6 a.m., April 9.
Police handled 135 calls for service throughout this week.
Among the calls police handled…
One impaired driving: (alcohol).
Three collisions in the city: minor damage and/or minor injury.
Two collisions outside the city: minor injury and/or property damage.
Seven assaults: Two domestic assaults, charges recommended in both instances; one assault by family member resulting in a criminal charge; three assaults where the victim and suspect were known to each other with one being a false report. There was another assault where a male bear sprayed his friend.
Five Mental Health Act related calls: one apprehension.
12 thefts.
Four shoplifting.
Seven thefts from autos: Including change, two GPS units, dash cam system, a firearm: some related to last week’s series and most of the vehicles were unlocked).
One theft other: A theft of a black PJ flat-deck trailer.
One break and enter to residence: unfounded.
Four damage to property: two vehicles vandalized/ business window shot with BB/ house window broken – some of this was carry over from the spree the previous week.
Two drug seizures.
18 false alarms and false 911 calls.
