DBA President offers reward to catch tagger
Cranbrook Downtown Business Association President Joey Hoechsmann is offering a $1,000 reward for information on the identity of a busy vandal who has tagged numerous city businesses and properties.
“Over the past few weeks, the downtown core and surrounding areas have been hit with a wave of graffiti vandalism, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage to local businesses and private property,” Hoechsmann stated on social media.
“At HUSH Home Furnishings, our buildings alone were tagged in five locations, costing us over $5,000 in cleanup and repairs.
“As President of the Downtown Business Association, I can tell you this is not an isolated problem — it’s affecting many business owners and damaging the integrity of our city core.”
Hoechsmann posted surveillance footage of the suspect:
- Male, late teens;
- Approximately 5’9” tall, thin build;
- Wearing hooded clothing and a mask;
- Agile enough to scale rooftops.
“We believe this individual is responsible for the majority of graffiti marked “SEKO” seen across Cranbrook,” he said.
“We are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of this individual. If you have any tips or recognize the person in these photos, please contact the Cranbrook RCMP or message me directly. And please help spread the word by sharing this post.
“This is not artwork — it’s vandalism. Let’s work together to keep Cranbrook beautiful, safe, and vibrant,” Hoechsmann concluded.
