Eagles Nest Resort remembers with Starlite gift

Eagles Nest RV Resort has lit the first large star and an additional small star for the Starlite Campaign with a gift of $9,000 in memory of Pat Bernhard. This generous gift brings us one step closer to bringing the permanent MRI to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Currently the East Kootenay region has access to the Mobile MRI unit for one week per month, sharing this unit with Trail and Penticton. The limited access to the Mobile unit has meant long wait times and in many instances patient travel outside the region to access MRI services in Kelowna or Calgary.

“The MRI will have such a significant impact on healthcare for so many people throughout the East Kootenay, Eagles Nest RV Resort’s gift is a touching way to remember Pat Bernhard,” said Cassandra Schwarz, East Kootenay Foundation for Health Executive Director.

A legacy gift to local healthcare in memory of a loved one provides a lasting legacy for others. EKFH has set up a fund in memory of Pat Bernhard to continue to accept donations to bring the MRI to the East Kootenay.

To light a large star is $5,000 and a small star is $2,500. All donations of every size make a huge difference and will accumulate to light a “community star” to help us reach our goal.

To make your holiday starlite gift to the MRI please contact the EKFH office at 1-877-489-6481 or donate online at ekfh.ca.
